Bakely Bakehouse ("we", "us") is a trading name of D G McClean Ltd, a company registered in Northern Ireland (company no. NI726037). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address and an encrypted password, so you can sign in.
- Subscription data — whether your membership is active, and a customer reference from our payment provider. We never see or store your full card details.
- Technical data — basic, security-related information your browser sends (such as IP address) when you use the site.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
- To provide your account and membership and let you sign in — performance of a contract.
- To take payment and manage your subscription — performance of a contract.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse — legitimate interests.
- To send service emails about your account or billing — performance of a contract. We do not send marketing without your consent.
Who processes your data
We use trusted providers who process data on our behalf under contract:
- Stripe — payments and subscription billing.
- Supabase — secure account storage and authentication.
- Netlify — website hosting and delivery.
Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.
Cookies
We use only the essential cookies and local session storage needed to keep you signed in and to take payment securely. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep limited records (for example, payment records) to meet legal or tax obligations.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email our support address. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
